Protecting Families

With two young sons of our own, my wife Linda and I fully understand the pressures facing families in Hays County.  From work, to family commitments, to the fast pace of our modern lives, families need all the help they can get.

While I firmly believe that government is not the answer to all of the problems facing families it certainly should not create new ones.  Government, especially county government, should work to create the right environment to foster a safe and secure community for families by:

  • Ensuring that their is adequate and appropriate funding to support law enforcement.

  • Help coordinate law enforcement between various entities to ensure that the true risks to citizens are being addressed.

  • Control government taxes and spending to remove any undue burden on taxpaying families.

  • Attract institutions of higher learning to increase educational opportunities for adults and youths.

  • Strengthen the local economy to expand employment opportunities for all.

  • Provide greater local access to quality health care.

  • Build and maintain a safe and effcient system of roads.

These are some of the issues that should be actively addressed by county government on behalf of citizens.
