Local Jobs

As your next County Commissioner, I will make bringing more quality jobs a top priority.  Our recent national economic crisis has highlighted how important a strong local employer base is to the quality and stability of a community.

Hays County’s workforce is among the best in the state; we need to work on attracting new employers into the county that will employee our current citizens.  We also need to work with our local business both large and small to ensure that the right environment exist to allow them to expand both their business and number of local employees.

We must ensure that Hays County is “open for business”, with a pro-free enterprise climate that promotes entrepreneurship and enterprise.  One that stands out because of low taxes, incentives for job creation, sensible regulation, local higher education options, and a fiscally sound government that lives within its means.

As Mayor of Kyle I made economic development and job creation a personal priority.  I worked to build a pro-free enterprise environment within the city of Kyle.  Because of these policies, Kyle continues to add more businesses, more jobs, and more sales tax revenues despite the current national economic crisis.  Now, I want to put this experience to work as your next County Commissioner.
